Kiraku, Inc. has announced the opening of YORUYA, a boutique culinary hotel located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter in Okayama Prefecture. Through a refined dining and stay experience, YORUYA offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culinary culture and historical heritage of Kurashiki and its surrounding region.

Set within a renovated and expanded traditional building over 110 years old, YORUYA features 13 guest rooms, a dining area, and a wine bar open to the local community. The hotel is operated by Naru Developments Co., Ltd., the team behind Fukudaya, a culinary inn in Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, and Azumi Setoda, a ryokan in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Following Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St., this project marks Kiraku’s second collaboration with investor ALL-JAPAN Kanko Rikkoku Fund, a tourism-oriented fund for which Regional Revitalization Solution, Inc. serves as general partner.

With an intention to blend the timeless beauty of traditional architecture with modern comforts, Kiraku has also partnered with SIMPLICITY Co., Ltd. for design direction and interior design – a design studio devoted to contemporary design rooted in Japan’s heritage of traditional techniques and sensibilities across architecture, interiors, products, and graphics. Takeo Imai Architecture Office, with their experience in the renovation of traditional buildings, was selected for architectural design.
